about

Archana Ram is a San-Diego based writer, covering travel, food, health, fashion, the Baja region, and more. Her work has appeared in Travel + LeisureSunsetDelta SkyAfarSan Diego Magazine, and Alaska Airlines magazine. Some of her favorite pieces have been covering the Grammys for Cosmopolitan, penning multiple cover stories for San Diego Magazine, interviewing Chef Javier Plascencia for Vogue, and writing guidebook content for Fodor's, Google, and Conde Nast Traveler.

Archana graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in 2007 before moving to New York City. She worked on staff at People Stylewatch and Entertainment Weekly, where she covered fashion, TV and news, reported from red carpet events, and appeared on the Today show, Entertainment Tonight, and ABC News to discuss top entertainment stories.

In 2011, Archana left New York and her job at Entertainment Weekly to backpack for 13 months through South America, Hawaii, and  Asia. She blogged all about her trip at New York to Nomad.

Once she realized that hostels and long-distance buses weren’t going to be her permanent way of life, she moved to San Diego, where she now works as a senior editor at San Diego Magazine by day and freelance writer by night (and weekends and early mornings).
