About

I'm Archana Ram—a writer, editor and Q&A moderator with expertise in pop culture, wellness, design and sustainability.

I've wanted to write ever since I picked up my first magazine (YM). I went on to graduate from Northwestern University with a degree in journalism, then moved to New York City where I was a staff writer for People StyleWatch and Entertainment Weekly.

In 2011, my husband and I left NYC to backpack around Asia and South America for 13 months. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. After the trip, we moved to San Diego in 2013 and I joined San Diego Magazine, rising from staff writer to editor to senior editor. I also produced and co-hosted the magazine's weekly, award-winning food podcast, the Happy Half Hour.

Then in 2019 the road was calling again. My husband and I road-tripped around the western U.S. (and Vancouver) with our dog in a compact car for nine months, working when we weren’t navigating National Parks and exploring small towns.

Now I’m a full-time writer, moderator and on-air host based in Ojai, CA, with clients like VoguePatagonia, and Netflix and CPG brands including Prose and Clevr Blends, working on all aspects of copy from revamping web pages to shaping campaigns and building social media posts.

Beyond print, I have 15+ years of broadcast experience, including appearances on Today and Access Hollywood and serving as host of Patagonia’s Working Knowledge podcast. In my free time, I moderate Q&As with filmmakers, actors and writers at the Ojai Playhouse.
