I'm Archana Ram, a writer, editor and content creator with expertise in travel, food, wellness, pets and more. I've wanted to write ever since I picked up my first magazine (YM). I went on to edit my high school newspaper, major in journalism at Northwestern University and move to New York City where I was a staff writer for People StyleWatch and Entertainment Weekly.
But in 2011 the road was calling. My husband and I quit our jobs to backpack around Asia and South America for 13 months. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. After the trip, we moved to San Diego in 2013 in search of good weather, good food and great road trips. I joined the staff at San Diego Magazine, rising from staff writer to editor to senior editor. I also produced and co-hosted the magazine's weekly, award-winning food podcast, the Happy Half Hour.
Now I’m a full-time copywriter and content strategist, with editorial clients like Vogue, Conde Nast Traveler, and Fodor's guidebooks and CPG clients including Chosen Foods, The Honest Kitchen, and Dang Foods, working on everything from revamping web copy and blogging to crafting catchy slogans and social media posts. I'm also a writer and editor for the marketing agency EnVeritas Group, focusing on travel copywriting projects for Google.
Beyond print, I have 10+ years of on-air expertise, logging appearances on Today, Access Hollywood, NBC7 San Diego, and NPR's San Diego affiliate KPBS.
